Fragile...

...life is so fragile, so delicate and soft. Sometimes I understand it, and other times I dont. Bad days, on any scale take a hardened heart, dark room and a patron shot or two... to make it thru.

...fighting back tears is not fun
...trying to explain how you feel, when you know that the person cant hear ...you
...waking up hoping that yesterday would have vanished and today you will feel a new...

...this bad day will soon be marked off the calender and added to the list of bad days that made me stonger in some sort of way.

...I choose to use silence, because no matter how elgoquent my words be expressed, you cant articulate pain..

Just another bad day.

...We are hard at work, rest assured...

...I appreciate everyone who is being extremely patient with us [my team, 84/87]... as we work on getting our second batch of [Save.Hait] t-shirts out to the public. Keep in mind that we all have other obligations that unfortunately take precedent but we are working diligently and making any and all efforts to get out what we know you, the people want. It is my personal duty to make sure that anyone who wants a shirt will get one, but remember we all have our 9 to 5's. We have been receiving a lot of orders and request for our t-shirts, and rest assured we see each and everyone of your questions and orders, and those of you who want and are interested in our t-shirts. Again we have a purpose, and a mission we are trying to accomplish, so I want to thank each of you who are making that mission possible, and believe the cause is still in full effect, we are just taking our time to wrinkle out some crinkles that we have encountered so that this time around the process will be completely smooth in comparison to the last. So please I ask that you bare with us and we will deliver...

...As for the crop tops for the ladies, we are doing orders now, the price of the crop tops will be a more than the regular t-shirts because they are not as accessible as the regular t-shirts, so if you want a crop top, you can visit our website, place your order, and it will be sent out in 5 to 7 business days. If you have any questions or concerns again feel free to email my team at  8487savehaiti@gmail.com ....we are here to answer any questions or issues that may arise...

Growing Pains

...As a kid, well let me not say kid, but in the middle years of my adolescence I became jaded--- I always wanted things to go my way, and when they didn’t, I couldn’t comprehend why. It was something that I was confronted with more often than not, being that things have a way of never working out the way you anticipate them too. I had a wake up call.... I looked in the mirror; I could see the anger, distress, and just ill hearted-ness on my face, in my demeanor, my stare.

...I always tell people to look in the mirror; the most important person and judge of character will be looking directly back at you. It is important to recognize flaws in self. That is truly an indication and sign of growth. We are imperfect at our core, but how we remedy such glitches is the true test...

...to say I have grown, would be redundant, one of the many facets of life, puts you in situations where you not only have to grow, but you must do it gracefully and while everyone is watching being subject to criticism. It is no easy undertaking, I had to learn early on, that life will take you where you least expect it to, it is a compilation of every sort of situation imaginable, and you have virtually no control on which situation is next. I say this because this lesson alone has forced me and made it increasingly easier over the years to cut people out who have no business being a part of my life. Today was easier than yesterday...because when I now look in the mirror, I see a beauty, inside and out. I have worked on myself, I have learned lessons I prayed I never would have to endure, and I have become the woman I want to be, with massive potential left to blossom. I have not tolerance for the loose wrap, the people who insist on taking me for granted, and to think all it took was a look in the mirror....

...when you truly decide to grow up, life becomes that much more blissful. Ode to the woMAN in the mirror-

Wale Speaks about Love

...#thatthing...where art thou??

Wale: The irony in the pursuit of success is that once some of us achieve the dream we swore we wanted, the things that were important on the road to it tend to deteriorate — family, “friends” and often love.
When I was in early high school, I would chant nonsense like money over bitches. Looking back, I cringe. After failed relationships, failed “flings,” failed attempts at being a gigolo, player, or anything under that umbrella, I made a self declaration that 2010 will be the year of #thatthing. #thatthing is an absolute anomaly. It’s unexplainable. It soothes, it kills, it holds, it harms. It literally can grant life or death with one touch. And for this reason, many of us wear masks, metaphorically of course. Masks that cover insecurities. Masks that prevent #thatthing from capturing you in its relentless clutch. The fear of being hurt, for some, is far more important then the joy of being in love.
Women, how many men have you met who surround themselves around so many women, they wouldn’t be able to distinguish “the one” if she were right under his nose? I propose the same question to the dudes: Have you ever courted someone and did everything in your power to make her “open her eyes” (Bobby Caldwell x Common)? Yet she still wants to be in the club every other day or she tells you she doesn’t want commitment. That is her trying not to be vulnerable. That is the proverbial wall that can’t be penetrated because even the briefest daydream of #thatthing will send her into shock. #thatthing has the staring role in life’s movie. A nigga may have never experienced #thatthing, but his mother/father/sister/brother/teammate’s experiences may have been enough to instill the fear. A woman may never have experienced that thing, but her homegirl/bestfriend/play-cousin just may have made a fool of herself at a local club, go-go, movie theater or mall because of #thatthing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve decided to pursue monogamy this year because #thatthing is beautiful. I literally drove down South Dakota Avenue with a North Face coat (the big joint) some basketball shorts, a wifebeater, and Timberlands. (Nike boots were muddy) on a summer night, because I wanted to show her "how real these tears are."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ve decided to pursue monogamy this year because #thatthing is beautiful. I literally drove down South Dakota Avenue with a North Face coat (the big joint) some basketball shorts, a wifebeater, and Timberlands. (Nike boots were muddy) on a summer night, because I wanted to show her “how real these tears are.” I can laugh at myself now, but at the time #thatthing had me lunchin’.
Ladies, Gents — #thatthing don’t give a fuck what she/he looks like, either. Many of us have fallen victim to the I-can’t-believe-I-used-to-sleep-with-that-monstrosity syndrome. Another result of #thatthing. For fear of hurting someone’s feelings (and encouraging an angry woman to stalk me), let’s just say I once was so caught up in #thatthing, I looked past several character flaws (as well as physical) for an extended period of time.
I have to ask myself why. Is it the thrill of chase? Spending nights under the covers talking about nothing? Your partner is so “perfect” that just to hear their breath is the most tranquil feeling in the world (and completely trumps a quick nut from a jump-off.) Her sex is so good I look past the fact that she has no job, no car, no ambition, and no drive. Or ladies — maybe he f*%cks so good that you forget that he has six children and he’s only 25. The most proud can be publicly foolish. The shy guy can transform into the most outspoken. The moment your heart and hormones start to fight for control of your brain, you’re probably caught up in #thatthing.
My pursuit of #thatthing is a difficult one. I like to consider myself an unrecognizable famous person, meaning I can still do the things most 25-year-old employed black men can do, without too much attention. But at the same time, a lot of these women know who I am, (albeit never heard a song. LOL.) This is where the pessimism starts to creep in. And the paranoia that guides my judgment when exchanging numbers. Why does she want to talk to me? How long till she tells me she’s a model? I met Jay-Z in ‘99 he said he was gonna sign me. Can you ask him if we’re still good? Situations like this make the pursuit of #thatthing just as hard as shaking it off once acquired.

Wyclef + Oprah...Take 2 [video]

Wyclef to Oprah: "Haiti Don't Need No More Photo Ops"

Wyclef + Oprah

E-Online : Where Wyclef Jean goes, awareness of and aid for Haiti's earthquake- (and now aftershock-) wrought devastation, follows.

This morning, the erstwhile Fugee and briefly scandal-plagued Yelé Haiti founder appeared on TheOprah Winfrey Show, which was specially dedicated to the plight of the nation, and he wasted no time getting to the heart of the matter.

"The Haitian people told me specifically when I was coming on your show to tell people, 'Stop with the photo ops,'" he said. "Haiti don't need no more photo ops."

"We need logistics, we need people to go to the airport who can get stuff out of the airport and to the people."

And while the impassioned singer is currently stateside prepping for Friday's cross-network Hope for Haiti telethon, he plans on returning to his native country on Saturday, when he's hoping to revolutionize the well-intentioned yet undignified and at times wholly ineffective methods of food distribution.

The Haitian people, he urged, "are not animals." But that's exactly how he believes residents are being treated, judging by the news coverage of helicopter-assisted food drops that have been taking place since last week's earthquake.

Instead, he told Oprah that he wanted the U.S. military to set up tent camps for the displaced people outside Port-au-Prince, with the intention of turning them into housing at a later date.

He did not, he made clear, want them to build "refugee camps."
Jean was joined during the show by Rihanna, a fellow Caribbean native, and Maxwell, who was raised by his Haitian grandmother, both of whom performed songs whose entire proceeds will benefit Haiti.
Rihanna's "Redemption Song" and Maxwell's "Fistful of Tears" are now available for download on Oprah.com, iTunes and the artists' websites.

"Often in a tragedy like this, it's the children who suffer the most," Rihanna said, adding that she goes to sleep now thinking about the Haitian orphans. "They have no way to get food, they're helpless. The children are the future."
And it's the future that Oprah, and in turn her show, will be most concerned with.
"I want everybody to do what they can right now," she said. "But it's what's going to happen six months from now that's really going to count."

-A King Remembered-

...The power of a dream can never be forgotten, the energy of our souls that ignite when we strive for perfection can not be overlooked. Our desire to reach equality will never be understood in its entirety, but we have a point of departure that resonates with every man, woman, and child. This great man, spoke for all of us when he articulated his dream, when he feared not what would be said, but hoped soon the dream would be fulfilled. On this day, A King is Remembered...

HOVA

..because I am a true Jay-z supporter, I am obligated to share...
Earlier today, Jay-z spoke with Angie Martinez of Hot 97 about claims that he is a “devil worshipper” and part of a secret society:

“I don’t know where it started. I don’t know where it came from. I really think it’s really silly. For the record, I of course believe in God, but I believe in one God. If people must know my religious beliefs, I believe in one God. I don’t believe in religion. I don’t believe in Christians or Muslims. I think all that separates people. I think it’s one God. I think it’s all the same God, and I don’t believe in Hell. But as far as God, of course I believe in God. Am I a part of some sect or cult? That sounds stupid to me. It’s like ignorant to even say, and umm… I guess that’ll be the last time I address that. It’s ignorant to me”

I can’t even get in a golf club in Palm Springs. I’m from Marcy Projects. Just think about that? People that control the world?

Do you believe that those sort of organizations exist?

I think there are cliques of friends that control things. I don’t if there is a devil worshipping sect. That’s a little Tom hanks. I believe there are cliques of people that control the world…but that’s just natural process. I’m sure Obama has his people and everything is good but as far as how far people are taking it…

So you don’t intentionally do this to put people in a frenzy?

I’m an entertainer at the end of the day. Maybe I’ll push your buttons but you know…
